HealthyMe Living Curates Snacks That Won’t Attack

We caught up with the founder of HealthyMe Living, Christy Venter, to hear how she cooked up the concept for her healthy snack box business and find out why she made the move from her dining room table to Launchbox.

Can you tell us about yourself and what inspired you to start HealthyMe Living?

HealthyMe Living came about when I was struggling with what to feed my young children. I wanted to do it “right” but felt overwhelmed by all the supposed right ways. It was stressful, and it wasn’t until I became a Certified Health Coach that I realized food was just one element to healthy living. I was able to find a stress-free balance in how I ate and felt my best, and was able to carry that on to my children. When we were out longer than expected and I didn’t have snacks on hand, I was often disappointed by the options available. It was then that I decided to start a healthy vending business. It ended up expanding quickly and went really well, except I couldn’t keep up with demand. I had requests for machines outside of NY and could not handle continuing doing it all on my own. I had to make a decision, so I decided to switch to healthy snack subscription boxes.

Tell us more about how the HealthyMe Living service works.

The boxes rotate monthly, so there’s always something new to try. Many people discover snacks they love and end up looking for them the next time they shop. I also offer non-subscription options like a gluten-free box, kid-friendly boxes, and a new mom and baby box with snacks that are perfect for one-handed, on-the-go moments. They make great gifts too, whether it’s for a new mom, a college student, or someone going through a tough time. It’s a way to show you care with something thoughtful and useful. My goal has never been to promote perfection. I just want to make it easier for people to have healthy choices available without the stress. These boxes are meant to be simple, helpful, and supportive—something better to have on hand when you need it.

How did you connect with Launchbox, and what has your experience been here?

I first heard about Launchbox through the Business Review, LinkedIn, the Times Union, and some local groups and people I follow on social media. It kept popping up, and I was really drawn to the concept, even though I wasn’t sure how I’d make the transition at the time. Many years ago, I started putting these boxes together in a small office at home. As I grew, so did my kids, and they no longer needed the playroom. I took over that space and had all my supplies in there, surrounded by the flower and heart wall decals and the homemade drawings they had hung up. As things continued to grow, my house started to feel too crowded—breaking down boxes, stacking them in the garage, deliveries on the porch, packages heading out the door—it was a lot. I kept Launchbox in mind and started a very slow transition over the past nine months or so. I wanted to make sure I maintained quality, stayed on top of fulfillment, and had the right processes in place.

So far, I’ve really enjoyed the space. It has all the amenities I need, and some I haven’t even had a chance to take advantage of yet. The people here are great, and now that my daughters are older, I’m ready to take things to the next level.
